OUR PHILOSOPHY
The Green Door Always Welcomes
OUR BEGINNING
Before there was Bothy & Bark, there was Bruce.
Bruce came into our lives when he was just seven months old. Before we found each other, he had already been returned three times. Nobody could have known then that the dog so many had overlooked would one day become the heart of our story.
He was full of life and always ready for an adventure. Every woodland path, beach, mountain trail or country lane was an opportunity to explore something new. Yet, the moment we arrived home, he became the gentlest soul imaginable.
Bruce never needed to be the centre of attention. More often than not, you'd find him quietly curled up on the sofa or asleep on the bed. He was so calm and content that, at times, you'd hardly know he was there. Simply being close to the people he loved was enough.
For twelve wonderful years, Bruce shared every chapter of our lives. He reminded us that muddy paws can always be cleaned, that the best adventures are the ones shared together, and that home is not defined by a place, but by the comfort of those waiting behind the door.
When Bruce passed away, he left us with far more than memories.
He left us with a purpose.
Bothy & Bark was created to celebrate everything he represented: the warmth of home, the beauty of the Scottish Highlands, timeless craftsmanship, and the extraordinary bond between people and their dogs.
Bruce's story began with a second chance. We hope the values he inspired will one day help create many more.
Today, every collection we curate, every photograph we share, and every decision we make carries a little of Bruce with it.
His paw prints don't simply belong to our past. They continue to lead us home.
Crafted for Hearth, Trail, and Home
We believe the things we bring into our homes should earn their place.
Every piece you'll find at Bothy & Bark is carefully selected for its quality, craftsmanship and timeless character. If we wouldn't proudly welcome it into our own bothy, it won't become part of our collection.
From handcrafted ceramics and traditional textiles to practical dog essentials and beautiful everyday pieces, we look for products that tell a story, are built to last, and become more beautiful with age.
Just like the Highlands themselves, we believe the best things aren't rushed.
